Spread the love

There were numerous times in my life when I wanted to try something new or start something new, but my inner voice said: “Don’t do this…”, “You will not be able to…”, “You don’t have the knowledge…”, “You don’t have the relevant education…”, “The risk is too high..”, etc. I have deprived myself of so many opportunities in life because of my fears.

Yes, those were fears and nothing more… Of course, if someone wants to do something dangerous or extra risky, and doesn’t know anything about this – I still wouldn’t do this. 🙂 But I am referring to different circumstances and situations. We all have an inner voice. And this inner voice can immobilize us if we let it.

I have personally interpreted my inner voice wrong in the past. Instead of listening to it as intuition or possible caution, I have always interpreted it as to why I shouldn’t take action. Only later on I have realized that what has stopped me from major progress in my life was my constant doubting of myself. In other words, it was a lack of belief in myself.

And why was I doubting myself? There was no particular reason for feeling the way I have felt. I have always achieved any goal that I have set, as long as I wanted it bad enough. Why do most of us doubt ourselves, and are questioning our self-worth? Not because we have a valid reason for it. We are doubting ourselves because we are scared – because we are driven by fear.

What if we use our fear as a friend instead of using it as our enemy? What if any time we hear our inner voice and start scaring ourselves we will become aware that we are doing this? And when we become aware we can swap the words we are using and the meaning we assign to them.

There’s nothing more powerful than the voice inside you that says “I can do it”. Self-belief and assurance is the key to living a happy and fulfilling life. It’s that one thing that makes you resilient in the hardest of times when the world is busy second-guessing your choices.

If you have interpreted your inner voice for many years to scare you away from taking action, to self-doubt, you will have to completely retrain yourself, as the current habit is kind of engraved in you. But the good news, with just a bit of practice, you will be a new and improved You.

Believe in yourself, and do not be afraid to put yourself out there to start something new. Don’t be afraid of failure. Be true to who you are and express yourself without fear of judgment. And the most important thing is to stay true to your values, be compassionate and kind to others as well.

There is no one like you and will never be anyone like you. Do it your way. Be inspired by others, but don’t second guess yourself, your abilities, your creativity. Even if you make a mistake, you will learn from it. This is how we grow. Find what you love to do and do it.

Don’t let anybody tell you that your dreams are not possible. Don’t let someone’s criticism, disbelief in you, or a “no” defeat you. Become aware of it and use it. Let this redirect you to more actions, to something better.

If someone disagrees with you, it’s ok, it’s their right. And if you don’t know how to do something – it’s ok as well. You can’t do it all by yourself. You can ask for help – it doesn’t make you weak.

Don’t underestimate yourself due to some limiting beliefs, whether they are yours or someone else’s.

To summarize, here are the steps to become a new fearless you:

  1. Become aware when you hear your inner voice when you are doubting yourself.
  2. Ask yourself: “What other meaning can this situation or circumstance have?” “What can I learn from this situation?”
  3. Assign a different meaning to this.
  4. Take action.
  5. Be flexible – If it doesn’t work, learn from this and try a different approach.
  6. Ask for help when needed.
  7. Celebrate all wins, even the smallest ones 🙂

And I am not telling you that this is going to be an easy process, which it can be. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone isn’t easy most of the time. But the reward is so worth it!

You can achieve almost anything you want! You are unlimited! 🙂
